In 1993, James Ullery was encouraged by friends to sell his homemade ice cream that he always made for family gatherings to the public. After careful consideration, Jim and his wife, Pat, decided that the advice was sound. Without delay they began selling their ice cream at fairs and festivals not yet knowing the road they would be paving for their children and grandchildren.
Now, in 2017, all three of Jim and Pat's children are involved with four concession trailers visiting various events throughout Ohio and Indiana. Their twelve grandchildren are often seen assisting their parents and now great grand children are beginning to learn several areas of the business.
In 2013 a store was opened in the Historic Depot District of Richmond, Indiana. The store provides a unique experience for the Ullery fan base, which has grown immensely since 1993. Open year round, it allows the customers convenient access to all their favorite flavors and more.
Although, Jim passed from this life in 2010, he has left behind a wonderful legacy that continues with his family, Rod and Tammy Ullery, Rhonda and Joe Kramer, Rob and Lorrie Ullery and his wife Pat, all continuing the business with the help of family and friends.
