Scooping Sweet Success: Ullery’s Homemade Ice Cream Celebrates 30 Years

For over 30 years, Ullery’s Homemade Ice Cream has been a beloved family enterprise, captivating generations with their creamy and unique homemade ice cream. The journey began when the visionary patriarch, Jim Ullery, crafted a special ice cream blend, lovingly hand-mixing 5-gallon batches and freezing them the old-fashioned way with salt and ice, all churned to perfection by an antique hit-and-miss engine. As the demand for their delectable ice cream soared, Jim and Pat Ullery’s children, Rod, Rhonda, Robbie, and their families eagerly stepped into the fold, each adding their own flair to the family business. Today grandchildren and great-grandchildren are now helping to keep the legacy alive, for 4 generations!

Since August of 2013, the first Ullery’s store location, Rod and Tammy have been the driving force behind the ice cream enchantment serving smiles and scoops of joy to the community of Richmond, Indiana. Their inviting store has become a beloved destination, where friendships blossom, and cherished memories are created over the shared love of ice cream. With a commitment to quality and a passion for their craft, Ullery’s Homemade Ice Cream has found a special place in the hearts of their customers.

As they proudly celebrate 30 years of business, with their charming store location marking a decade of making Richmond even sweeter, the Ullery family stands as the torchbearers of their legacy, spreading joy one scoop at a time.
